Iridium is a sophisticated satellite constellation that provides superior voice and broadband connectivity with true global coverage. Iridium satellite accessories ensure continued operations and extended functionality for high-performance satellite communications.
Types of Accessories
Iridium has an extensive range of accessories to enhance a device’s capabilities for uninterrupted use. The selection includes Iridium 9505a accessories as well as components for the newest handset models to sustain power and ensure seamless access to voice and data services.
Enhanced Connectivity
Satellite communication transmit to devices via antennas whether they are permanently attached to the phone, or as portable external antennas. Replacement antennas can be purchased separately for Iridium handsets where existing antennas are damaged. This is a practical and cost-effective option where purchasing a new handset isn’t necessary.
Antennas and Adapters
To improve satellite signals in isolated regions, Iridium Extreme accessories including external portable antennas are ideal for better performance. Different antennas and adapters are designed for different Iridium devices and can be attached via specific cables that come in varying lengths.
External antennas can be purchased separately or as part of a bundle that includes the necessary components to set up improved connectivity. Depending on your mobility requirements, you can choose an antenna that is permanently fixed to a remote structure or go for a temporary antenna easily moved between sites with magnetic mounts. The Beam and AeroAntenna range delivers exceptional reception performance for indoor or outdoor use.
Power Accessories
Having a reliable power source and spare batteries is of paramount importance to keep your satellite device up and running.
Batteries and Chargers
Lithium ion batteries can be bought as spares or as replacement batteries for the Iridium 9500, 9505, 9505A, 9555, and 9575 handsets. High capacity batteries are also available for compatible models to provide up to 6.5 hours of talk time and 43 hours of standby time while in full network coverage.
A range of external, solar, and car chargers can be purchased to power up your Iridium device and spare batteries for extended use.
Docking Stations
The selection of docking stations come with different configurations and features, depending on the sat phone you are using. General functionalities include a loudspeaker or privacy mode, a noise-canceling microphone, Bluetooth integration, SOS features and/or Wi-Fi capabilities. Bundles with docking stations are available that include the Iridium Extreme and Iridium 9555 satellite phone with accessories and prepaid sim card.
SIM Cards and Airtime
An Iridium SIM card with loaded airtime is necessary to use your device to communicate over the Iridium network. Choosing a plan best suited to your expected voice and data consumption is a cost-effective approach.
Postpaid or Prepaid
SIM cards come with varying validity periods and different rates. Postpaid plans allow you to continually use satellite services without the worry of running out of credit. Rates are generally lower than prepaid options but incur an activation fee. Prepaid plans offer region-specific or global access with the convenience of paying for what you need, when you need it.
